PetroOXY- ASTM D7525 Gasoline, D7545 diesel, biodiesel & FAME for Rapid Small Scale Oxidation Testing (RSSOT)
The PetroOXY, developed by Petrotest® was engineered to replace traditional oxidation stability test methods (ASTM D525 – ISO 7536) for gasoline and (ASTM D2274 & EN 14 112) for diesel fuels which is too time consuming and labor-intensive to be used for spot checking product quality or for process monitoring and control.
The successful new test methods require dramatically less time and labor while providing analytically superior results as evidenced by significant improvements in analytical repeatability and reproducibility.
The PetroOXY’s oxidation stability tests are typically completed in less than one hour. Cleaning between tests requires only 5 minutes with ethanol as opposed to the hours and the harsh solvents required to clean traditional test apparatus.
PetroOXY’s rapid aging under pressurized oxygen technique is similar to ISO 7536 and ASTM D525; but is dramatically faster, safer and physically smaller!

Technical Data
• Temperature Range: Up to 200°C
• Pressure Sensor: 0 to 2000 kPa
• Oxidation Stability is defined as: time elapsed until Pressure = Pmax - 10%
• Repeatability: better than 5%*
• Reproducibility: better than 8%*
• 5 ml sample volume
• 20x 40 x 26 cm (W x D)
• Utilities Required: 120VAC 60Hz; Oxygen
*Based upon round robin testing of multiple diesel, bio-diesel, diesel blends and gasoline samples by multiple independent laboratories using independent instruments versus the manufacturer’s results.
Unlike traditional diesel test methods the PetroOXY’s results are representative of the formation of both the volatile and the non-volatile oxidation products in the fuel. This provides a more comprehensive and accurate fuel storage stability analysis.
